IPTV Smarters Pro Setup Guide for Beginners
IPTV Smarters Pro is the default IPTV player for new users on every platform. It is free, polished enough, available on Android, Android TV, iOS, tvOS, Windows, and macOS, and sideloadable on Firestick in five minutes. This guide takes you through the full setup — start to finish — for the most common devices.

Setup on iOS (iPhone / iPad)
- App Store → search "IPTV Smarters Pro" → install.
- Open the app, choose "Login with Xtream Codes API".
- Enter TrexTV credentials and tap Add User.
Setup on Windows / macOS
- Download IPTV Smarters Pro for desktop from the official site.
- Install and launch.
- Choose Xtream Codes login, enter TrexTV details, save.
Adding the EPG (TV guide)
After login, go to Settings → EPG → enable XMLTV EPG → paste the EPG URL we emailed you → Save. The guide populates within 1–2 minutes. From then on you can browse the channel guide, set reminders, and use catch-up features where available.
Best playback settings
- Buffer: Settings → Stream Format → 2,000–4,000 ms (2,000 for fast Wi-Fi, 4,000 if you see occasional buffering).
- Decoder: Settings → Player Settings → Hardware (for 4K and smooth HD).
- Auto-play: enable so channel switches play immediately.
- Parental PIN: set if you want to lock adult categories.
Managing favourites and groups
Tap and hold any channel to add to favourites. Use the channel groups dropdown to filter by category (Sports, News, Movies, by country, etc.). On Android TV, the long-press from the remote works the same way.
Recording live TV
Smarters Pro on most platforms supports recording. Open a live channel, press the record button, set duration, and the recording saves to your device's storage. Note: recording is only possible while the device is on.
Switching to TiviMate later
If you decide Smarters isn't enough, switch to TiviMate Premium (Android TV only). Both use the same Xtream Codes login — you don't need new TrexTV credentials. The interface and EPG in TiviMate are noticeably better for power users.
Troubleshooting checklist
- "Authorisation failed" → server URL or password typo. Re-check the activation email.
- "Channel won't load" → check internet speed at fast.com; raise buffer to 4,000 ms.
- "EPG is empty" → confirm EPG URL pasted correctly; wait 5 minutes; restart app.
- Still stuck → contact us and we'll help you in minutes.
One more thing — back up your login
Save your TrexTV activation email somewhere safe. If you ever reinstall Smarters or move to a new device, you'll need that server URL, username, and password again.
